May 25, 2025 will be here before we know it, and we will need our usual army of intrepid souls to help with picnic tasks or with food donations. Can you be part of the team?
Food Donations are easy because you deliver your donation to the picnic grounds that morning, and your work is done! We are looking for donations of cupcakes, brownies, lemon bars, slaw, and fruit. We especially are in need of fruit donations!

Helping At The Picnic: Each year, we make a big event easier by having many volunteers each doing their own bit, and the old saying that “many hands make light work” is proved to be true. None of the jobs require any training; all that is needed is a smile and the willingness to pitch in for a couple of hours on a (hopefully) sunny May afternoon. If you can help with any of the following tasks, please send an email to Paul Plakos!
Kitchen Helper: Greet guests and hand out plates/napkins/utensils and buns. First shift 11:45 to 1:15 or second shift 1:15 to 3:00 (ish).
Beverage Server: Help out in the beverage area serving drinks and selling fire department swag. In the shade! First shift 11:45 to 1:15 or second shift 1:15 to 3:00 (ish).
Bean Server: Dish our our famous, hot, tasty baked beans! Second shift 1:15 to 3:00 (ish)
Dessert Server: Help out in the dessert area, the sweetest job at the picnic. In the shade! First shift 11:45 to 1:15 or second shift 1:15 to 3:00 (ish).
Name Tag Table: Greet guests coming to the picnic, give them nametags, meet lots of people. A sit-down job. Second shift 1:15 to 3:00 (ish)
Burger/HotDog Server: Verify people’s orders and dispense burgers and dogs. First shift 11:45 to 1:15 or second shift 1:15 to 3:00 (ish).
Grill!: Hang out with the firefighters, grill burgers and dogs. A stand-up job and kinda smoky. First shift 11:45 to 1:15 or second shift 1:15 to 3:00 (ish).
Veggie Burger Grill: Manage the veggie burger grill. Have you become expert at grilling non-meat burgers? Then this job is for you! A stand-up job and kinda smoky. First shift 11:45 to 1:15 or second shift 1:15 to 3:00 (ish).
