The non-profit Sea Ranch Volunteer Fire Department is now the North Sonoma Coast Volunteer Firefighter Association (NSCVFA). The new name reflects the relationship between the nonprofit North Sonoma Coast Volunteer Firefighter Association and the North Sonoma Coast Fire Protection District. The creation of the North Sonoma Coast Fire Protection District merged the Annapolis Volunteer Fire Brigade and The Sea Ranch Volunteer Fire Department geographic areas into a district with a single fire department. This provides a more responsive local fire department and better emergency services for local residents. The NSCVFA supports the fire department by providing and maintaining the North Fire Station, raising money for the upgrading of firefighting equipment and assisting with the purchase of new emergency response vehicles.
